Originally, it was planned to have these reissue sets (along with its reissue DVD counterpart) released on the very same 7 September date ( Star Trek's actual birthday) as the Star Trek: The Original 4-Movie Collection set. This version did see a limited Region B release in the UK, a week earlier than the North American one in effect. However, a concurrent " Limited SteelBook ® Edition" was also released, in which the discs of each of the three seasons were packaged in their own individual steelbook, issued within a hardboard slipcase. This regular reissue did not see other reissues in any of the other regions, which still had to make do with the 2016 releases.
